MR. LYNNE BROWN

Mr. Lynne Brown CITY BUILT

Mr. Lynne Brown was birn in the San Francisco's Fillmore district and then relocated to the gritty streets of Bayview Hunters Point, Mr. Lynne Brown comes from a musical background. His uncle was a jam session pianist and bass player for the group Tower of Power. He became exposed to music at a young age. He started rapping in high school alongside his deejay KV (DJ K-Love). With the influence of some of the great pioneers in rap he began to craft his style. Through mutual friends both him and DJ KV were introduced to Domino D and Assassin M.D. who were a group called Def Line Express. Known for his competitive type of rhymes he went by the name of MC Diss. A bond was formed, and the Def Line Posse was created. It consisted of Domino, Assassin M.D., Madhatter (MC Jay), Mr. Lynne Brown (MC Diss), DJ KV (DJ K-Love) and Ty-Stick (Prince J). With all of them being from different parts of San Francisco it brought many different perspectives and experiences to the group.

After the disbandment of the Def Line Posse MLB stepped away from the mic and began to deejay. Spreading his wings and learning how to rock parties and grind in the life of what it takes to be a deejay, he began having local parties and doing underground club nights in the city. Faced with growth and freedom he changed his name to Nature Boy and went by the name of DJ Nature. In the meantime, rap was still MLB’s first love, and he continued to stay connected to members of the Def Line Posse. After numerous failed attempts at getting a strong demo tape created, he was blessed by his former Def Line crew member Madhatter (MC Jay) and was introduced to record producer Tuf-Cut-Tim from San Francisco's Mission district and a part of the supergroup and PGA recording artists Total Devastation. From there, they put together a compilation album called “Takin’ Over” in which MLB was on 4 stand out songs under the name of Nature.

Still continuing to deejay around the city and soon thereafter MLB stepped away from music and began to experience what life had to offer. With never truly abandoning his love for rap music he continued to stay close to members of the Def Line Posse. At this time Madhatter was putting the final touches on his first solo project and asked MLB if he would be a part of it. He is featured on the song called “World” from the debut album of Madhatter called San Franpsycho. Still faced with adversity MLB continued to work and build his craft that he has been attached to for most of his life. With the creation of the self-produced album called “Beats and Raps”, MLB engages in deep heartfelt lyrics that show extreme growth and lyrical promise that he has cultivated his entire career. The relationship between Madhatter and MLB widened even further after he contributed to the F.O.S album Past, Present & F.O.S on the song called “Wake Up”.

With a new purpose Madhatter, DJ KV, Domino and MLB have forged a new chapter in their musical journeys. The creation of City Built. Only created from a strong bond of respect for each other's talent and love for the music, these four have come together to bring in a new sound. MLB’s journey has many new possibilities in it and has an extremely bright future ahead of it.
